This guide was written to outline and explain the pre- and inter-seasonal to-do's of a GGFC manager in the order that they are meant to be completed. Below is a brief outline of the preseason and in-season checklists and duties. Underneath the outline is a more detailed description of the items.

Registering as a Manager (June)
You must register as a manager using the same platform that players are registered, Sports Sign-Up. This process takes time and requires attending a class hosted by WYSL so please begin planning in June. There are also certification requirements for managers. Newly appointed Team Managers must submit to an on-line background check, and renew your status every two years. The background check link is here.
When completing the background check, choose WYSL as our teams currently competes in the Westchester Youth Soccer League. Newly-appointed team managers of WYSL teams must also take a required two-hour introductory course conducted by the WYSL. These sessions are scheduled at various locations and points in time throughout the fall and winter. Introductory Email to the Team (August)
Draft and send an introductory email to your team. Information should include:

You will be managing your team's TeamSnap account. Newly appointed managers, please reach out to Ali Rubnitz, email@example.com, to be made an admin on the account. Upon being made an admin, please enter full season schedule including practice and game dates, and any tournament information. We utilize TeamSnap for team communications, event details and informations, etc.
Collecting Medical Forms (August/September & Ongoing)
Every GGFC player must submit the US Club Medical Form to the Team Manager both a printed and electronic copy.
While parents are instructed repeatedly to do so, it is often the manager’s responsibility to remind and collect these. These will be used not only for WYSL league play, but tournaments often require to have these on hand to play. Please double check your roster and ensure you have everyone's medical form. Once collected, they should be filed for emergency use (in Team Binder).
Often this is just done once a year in the beginning of the season, but be sure to continue to check to make sure your Team Binder is up to date with any new player additions to the team roster.
Appoint Team Coordinators (August/September)
While you act as the liaison between the coach and the team parents, you don't need to do it all by yourself! Some teams find it helpful to appoint other parents to be the team coordinators for the following:
Game Schedule (end of August)
The game schedule for WYSL should be available mid-August. It can be found on the WYSL website or on our calendar page under the “Resources” tab.
In-Season Checklist Detailed
Things Managers will need to have on hand at games:
Please look at our GGFC Game Matrix schedule and talk to other managers to coordinate. If your team is the first team scheduled for a game on a given field, you will need to get the corner flags and any other game related equipment from our GGFC bin at Pier 40. Teams playing the last game are responsible for returning the flags and any other equipped used. The combination to the lockers will be given to you at the start of the season. The container must always be locked!
Rosters/Line Ups (Ongoing through fall & winter season)
All teams playing in WYSL must have copies of their Roster Sheet on hand at games. Managers will need to print the Roster sheet to give to the referees on game day. Rosters can be printed on SportsSignUp. If you need assistance, please email Allison.firstname.lastname@example.org.
