Ali Rubnitz has been named the new Executive Director of Gotham Girls FC. Rubnitz comes to Gotham Girls FC with a wealth of experience and passion for women’s soccer from her most recent collegiate coaching positions.
“With the addition of Ali as the Executive Director partnering with Jose Goicochea, our Technical Director, we bring new and exciting opportunities to grow and support the competitive and leadership skills of the players in our club,” said Gotham Girls President, Cindy Sirko.
Between her current position on staff at Columbia University with the women’s soccer program and previous Assistant Coach positions at Seton Hall University and Monmouth University, she is bringing vast knowledge of both club and collegiate soccer to the club.
“I would like to thank the Board of Directors for giving me this opportunity to lead the club into our exciting next chapter,” Rubnitz said. “I am extremely thrilled to be a part of the Gotham Girls FC family and to work closely with Jose Goicochea in this role to build and grow our club to compete on the next level.”
Goicochea, now in his 10th season with Gotham Girls FC, has provided a solid foundation of technical expertise and passion for the girls’ program. As a former a collegiate player, a professional player in Barranquilla, Colombia, Goicochea adds an unparalleled dedication and excitement for the game. “We are excited to have such a winning new management team in their dedication to youth soccer and the enrichment it brings to the lives of players,” said Cindy Sirko.
Between the coaching backgrounds of both Rubnitz and Goicochea, Gotham Girls FC is gaining fantastic expertise from youth development all the way to the demands and requirements to play at the highest collegiate and professional levels.
Gotham Girls FC will be starting a new era under this leadership duo in both the level of play and competition, as well as other parts of the club philosophy and curriculum. While there will be a continuing emphasis on individual player development there will also be a reinvented focus on personal and team leadership development. Rubnitz and Goicochea have the vision for Gotham Girls FC teams to develop both as players and as people. That is the beauty of the sport, what it teaches both on and off the field. Gotham Girls FC is a club that has a holistic perspective on player development from youth programming all the way through the collegiate level.
