Nicola received her BFA in fine arts in 1999 from the College of Charleston, where she played division I soccer for the Cougars. In 1999 she moved to NYC, receiving her Masters in Interior Architecture from Pratt Institute in 2003. Since living in New York she has coached for both the Downtown Soccer League, Loisada Soccer League, and now Gotham Girls FC. She spent the last 3 years coaching with DUSC, working with the girls u12, 13, and u16 teams. An avid athlete, Nicola has continued to play competitive soccer here in the city with the NY Metropolitan Women’s Soccer League, playing for top-ranked teams like NYAC and SFC. In 2006 SFC won the NY State Cup. In 2007 Nicola joined a NY State Over 30’s team which enjoyed great success, winning the National Championship in a definitive 4-1 victory over St. Louis. Nicola’s favorite part of coaching is seeing players develop passion for the game.
