Assistant Director of Coaching for Gotham Girls FC and Academy Director
Credentials: M.A. Sport Psychology
Experience: Courtney's coaching experience began in 1995 in youth development and running summer camps for her college soccer program, University ofCalifornia at Berkeley. Courtney then returned to Cal as an assistant coach for women's soccer team. While coaching at Cal, Courtney pursued her graduate degree in sport psychology. She was also running a youth Academy program in the San Francisco Bay Area training players U8-U11. Since arriving in New York City in 2007, Courtney has served as the Assistant Director of Coaching for Gotham Girls FC and as the Director of the Gotham Girls Academy Program.
Description of assistant coach leadership vision for the club: The vision of the club is to provide a sport experience that prioritizes the needs of female players. Gotham Girls FC is striving to provide the most unique and player focused soccer experience for young female players. We do this by staying connected to the larger soccer community. Young female players are currently growing up with a Women's Professional League. Having this league is so important and GGFC is fostering a wonderful relationship with our local WPS 2009 Champions, Sky Blue FC. Girls can finally have the same dream that boys do, to play this beautiful sport for a living!
